Betty Ann is a retired horsewoman, a specialist in raising, dressing, and training horses, or whatever you do with them so they can win prizes in shows. Perhaps that's why she put that red ribbon on her shoulder for the photo, although it should have been a blue one, because Betty Ann is one of our "first-prize" students. She would be the first to admit that she had a head start on just about everyone, because she went to a Francophone high school.
Even with such an advantage, an Anglophone's French tends to get rusty after a certain number of years. That's why Betty Ann decided to spend two weeks of her vacation with us at La Ferme. Of course it was the vocabulary that needed the most work, but we were also able to remind her of many of the fine points of grammar which had not stuck with her.
Betty Ann didn't really need to do much homework, so she had plenty of time to explore the many attractions of our area during her free afternoons and weekends.
