Transportation
From abroad, the most economical and convenient way to reach La Ferme,
is to fly to Paris and then take the train to Saujon. You can board
a TGV (high speed train) either at Roissy - Charles De Gaulle Airport,
or at the Gare Montparnasse in Paris. At Angoulême or Niort,
change to a local Train toward Royan. We'll meet your train in Saujon
if we know you'll be on it. Otherwise, take a taxi.
Renting a car is not absolutely necessary, but your can see a lot
more of the local attractions if you have one. Although there are
restaurants and small shops within walking distance, you will have
a better selection if you have a car. If you don't want to drive all
the way from Paris, you can pick up your car in Royan, Niort or Angoulême,
where most major rental companies have offices.
If you plan to drive to La Ferme, take a look

and English language bookstores. They not only have info on transportation,
airport shuttle services, but also on entertainment, restaurants,
short term apartment rental, and employment in France. Order a copy
in the United States at (212) 777-5553. They
also have a web site.
